Since when has fashion gone orthopedic?

Looking on the nordstrom shoe site as I was #dying in class tonight I suddenly was faced with the realization why are all of spring's new shoes looking like they belong on a 90 year old? Have shoe designers decided that they can take their old designs and just stick a wedge onto it? Ugh it is going to be harder than I thought to find new shoes for the upcoming seasons! Let's take a look at a few examples:
Toms. Simple and plain hipstery shoes that can be only be worn by some. If you can carry the regular toms off it is more than likely that you would not feel comfortable wearing a wedge let alone a red wedge. EW

Slides have never been fashionable in my opinion. Yes in seventh grade they may have been cute nothing since then. So what if they are comfy? Deal.
I managed to find one cute pair of wedges that are cute especially for the fact that they are Coach. usually I am so anti coach with their obnoxious c's all over the place.

I feel like the wood will always be more chic than having any other type of wedge. At I'll leave you with one pair of my dream wedges...oh Nicholas Kirkwood you never cease to amaze me.
Anyone want to lend me $895 for these puppies?

LOLZIN

So I really can't decide what to do for summer...#wah. I feel like everything I apply to I think about halfheartedly because I don't even know what I want. Help me decide ok thanks! Oh and this is me publicly admitting that my previous post about twitter is so contradictory considering I am tweeting obsessed now. It is actually so addicting get one if you don't now! XOXO

A Wang

Alexander Wang do me please. His all new leather collection is literally to die for.
His new collection features some of his favorite old styles but brought back in all leather. It is so classic and can be worn at all collections. The perfect answer to my question of this weather is to pull out your all purpose leather jacket. Can mother nature finally decide whether it is going to be warm or not? Friday was suchhh a teaser to the summer and it's killing me. I need to spring shop but midterms are killing me...

Urban Outfitters has tried something new yet again. Those hipster's never give their brains a break. They now have a specific section designated for designers who have created specific designs sold at Urban. A lot of the new spring/summer collections are actually adorable. Here are some of my faves that I plan on picking up: Wow I really need to start spring shopping already. I really don't want to give up my blackness though.....
I feel like this dress has so much potential. A little bit 50's mixed with minnie mouse but still has a cutesy girlie edge. I LOVE the cut out shoulders and hopefully the trend doesn't plan on leaving.

Never underestimate the sexiness of classic leather. These shorts can make any outfit chic and can be worn out at night or casually during the day. I feel like these are going to be hot for summer and are going to be ripped off by forever 21 any second...

Eh I don't know about this dress yet. I feel like it can be really cute with a belt with simple black flats or sandals but I'm really going to have to judge this one in person. Wow another black and white striped shirt from urban I am so original....

Thats all for now can it warm up already? XOXO

Meh

Okay so I've spent a lot of time recently reading more blogs than normal so I thought I would share with you my favorite blogs that I look at basically everyday. First let's talk about my outfit today....black jeans from Scoop NYC, baby blue minnetonka moccasins, grey free people tshirt, blue and white striped sweater oversize from Beacons Closet in Brooklyn. Literally couldn't be more comfortable right now and also semi hipster. Yes, that is correct that I referred to myself as somewhat hipster especially for my outfit as of this moment.
Current blog choices of the moment:
1. http://jakandjil.com/blog- I've been reading this for about a year. It is the photo blog of the NY times blogger Bill Cunningham. He has a way of capturing regular NYC streetwear in a great way. The photos don't even need captions because they speak for themselves.
2. http://www.bleachblack.com/- definitely a hipster writer. Has a way of combining totally edgy pieces with high fashion. Also love the music they sometimes give links to.
3.http://cocoperez.com/- obvs the perez hilton fashion site. OBVS. just no explanation needed
4. http://www.manrepeller.com/- what is a man repeller you ask? This bloggers theory of dressing is called man repelling. Basically it is a way of dressing to repel the opposite sex.
5.http://www.afterdrk.com/- a fashionable girl living the NY life but giving great outfit advice and showing what she's wearing. Great if you're bored with your closet.
6. http://nicoleloher.tumblr.com/- This girl at my school her tumblr is really on the rise. It is on the fashion section of tumblr's radar and will be featured in Seventeen. It's really just an interesting way of seeing her life through her outfit choices and she gives great advice!
7. http://blog.neimanmarcus.com/- Neiman Marcus just started their style blog but it's actually really interesting. Some of it you may have already seen other places but still cool.
Alright more later but XOXO

Stuck in the suburbs

I think everytime a New Yorker has to leave it they realize their real appreciation for it. Things are different everywhere else in the world and they just don't really understand the magic of the city. Florals are becoming the new hit and you can see them already in stores for the new weather that we have been gifted with. My opinion on floral: very similar to Jcrew, unless used cautiously and correctly then you are bound to look matronly. That's the worst thing you can say to a fashionable girl that she's looking like her mother. Looking for some cute floral accessories if you are too cautious to experiment with the real thing? Try a headband like this one. Very adorable and can be worn with many different outfits.
Another one of my favorite spring accessories I see popping up again? flower rings. If you know me at all you know that I own around 20 of them and yes I would like to call a trend starter on this one. They go with literally everything and can make the most boring outfit instantly cutesy. Buy them at inexpensive stores like Forever 21 so they are literally three dollars.
To all my hipsters out there these oxfords are supercute but please please please don't wear them unless you know how to carry them off. I'm not acting cocky just a warning. Please, I can't even wear these. Suggestions: all black outfit and these would look banging.
XOXO for now. I hope you have fun enjoying this beautiful sunny day and you aren't like stuck inside house sitting for a dog..... naht cutesy

Nailing it

How sick is the new Katy Perry by OPI nail polish. My friend was wearing it the other day and I instantly became obsessed. Of course just like anything good its already sold out everywhere but I'll have to sneak it from somewhere.....
There are different colors but your nails literally look like the polish is shattering right on your nails. Super cool and probably lasts for much longer because of the layers.

Please help me find

I am currently on the search for a neon flowy dress. I picture it in my mind and I can't find it anywhere! Ideas?

New

These sunglasses will be my next glasses purchases. Obsessed with this neutral color and the way you can't see the frames. Always the best for creepin...
My advice for the upcoming season: continue your style but just have one statement piece or do something crazy that you wouldn't have thought of before...
i.e belting a fur coat....
i.e all black with a chic neon shirt to mix it up.....

Here ya go with some others inspired from Paris Fashion Week!
By the way if you haven't been to the stores in forever wedges are the hottest thing since forever. Get your pair before they start hitting the trashy stores. XOXO

Spring is sprung

Oh my god so if you were in the city today you must have thought it was april because it was so warm out lovin it. Literally can't wait to go to central park when its warm like all the time. My new spring obsessions are springing. I love the accordion pleating that is starting on everything. Obvs that american apparel started it with their pleated long skirts and pants. They are super comfy btw if you can pull them off. Urban is now coming out with different things featuring it. Like this dress:
Also loving the headwraps that are coming out. A great alternative to a headband but still being artsy and original. Like this one:

Thats all for now but I promise I'll do more tomorrow because I have so many updates waiting. XOXO
btw if I see one more person wearing the jeffrey campbell wooden shoes I may kill them. Done and gone bye get over it
