Springs coming!!

Okay so after waking up this morning and finding snow on the ground I am so officially ready for spring. Some things I really can't wait to start hitting the rise: neon heels. Why even bother putting neon as a trend anymore because it comes back every year.

In my opinion you can never go wrong with the perfect neon accent. Don't get me wrong, not everyone can pull it off. Neon requires a certain confidence to be able to rock.
Another trend I'm super excited for? flatforms! Has fashion actually made a shoe discovery that will make being fashionable more comfortable? I personally can't wait to get a pair. They look super cutesy and wearable.

Derek Lam (black) and Michael Kors always know whats going to be great. Can't wait to start my spring shopping. Winter is officially ovvver in my closet

Jill Stuart you rock that 70's Twiggy inspiration right down to those lips. I doubted it at first but you prove me wrong yet again with simplicity gone right.

DVF yeah I didn't think you needed an explanation.

I would wear this fierce look in a second. The New York look with my perfect amount of girly. Okay don't hate me but its 2 am and I'm dying more tomorrow I promise!

Fashion Week Fuck Up

So let's be completely serious and its time for a few admittances:
1. I made the wrong decision in November with my internship.
2. They used me and i got royally fucked over for fashion week.
3. To be honest I stopped caring about this before January.
4. I will never make this mistake again.
5. Why spend your time working random fashion shows just to say you've worked fashion week? The big names are the only names that matter in this buisness.
6. Okay now after getting this off my chest I can get back to really blogging about the real stuff ya know

An update

Okay so I admit. I've been slacking. Out with the old and in with the new. Gone is the horrible internship with the bosses who are so unprofessional Kaitlin and I would eat lunch out of a closet sometimes. Tuesday aka known as deathday for me right now is my W interview. I cannot psych myself out but seriously not to quote rachel zoe or anything but I'd die. I've recently discovered but things are more about quality than quantity. Sounds so clique I know but its just soo true. The few good people you surround yourself with are much better than the fakes who you will never give a shat about. Why have a million internships in your career if you find your dream one the first time around? Your only young and fresh once so make the most of it.

School

I feel like this has become my life at school.literally. All of my classes I hear constantly all about fashion and sometimes I find myself wondering if I'm missing out on other things in life constantly being immersed in this world. Am I depriving myself of a well rounded education while being educated about the new textiles for 2011?

Rachel Zoe

Okay so after just looking at all 33 looks from Rachel Zoe's collection I'm really feeling it. I would describe it as the perfect 33 looks that would come out of her closet and only work for well....her. It incorporates all of her favorite looks including the signature fur vest and flare pants. Making the skinnier look even skinnier. I have to say she is good at that. Her Fall 2011 collection was described as " London street style" which is perfect. I wonder how the initial bad press will affect her opening sales.

Canadia comes to Soho?

So today I went to the new Aritizia store that is soon to be opening in Soho. This is the second U.S store ironically the first is in Short Hills, NJ. After having been to the store in Canada I fell in love. Its almost like an east coast version of Fred Segal. Hopefully I will eventually be working there but who knows. My alltime favorite piece of clothing they offer? Flower leggings. Superchic and will never go out of style. They can instantly make an outfit go from boring to cutesy.

I've discovered

my true addiction. As I sit here at 1:04 a.m not remotely tired I have realized that I am truly addicted to being busy. My internship ending in the near future I am now well aware of my free time. Now here are my two choices: get a job/internship or just concentrate on my school work and enjoy the freedom. I know it should be a simple choice but i have no idea. I can't stop thinking that I need to figure out my summer internship or job or whatever so I will have my future set up. Okay so back to fashion....I went to the LF semi annual sale today. Oh my god it was such a cathouse. Everyone was going crazy. Things really made me think why are consumers so addicted to sales? If you really take the time to think about it, it is just people picking through last season's leftovers. It is a rare sale that has current or new things that have been reduced. Having to hold myself back from the extra adorable ripped sweaters thinking to myself sweaters will be over in about a month I picked up a supercute light sweater that can be worn all year round. My new shopping philosophy has been more of buying things that can be worn in more than one season. What's the point of limiting your closet so much?

It's been awhile

Sorry I haven't been blogging...I've just been living ya know. I just saw this picture of Whitney Port and her bff Roxy. Normally other people trying to rock this dress would end miserably but for some reason I'm really liking this....

I love the smokey eye on her too. I feel like she can rock looking totally girly and pink one minute but then hard rocker the next.

Feathers

Feathers. Interesting....but to an extent. The new accent instead of sequins? Well I'm a fan but in moderation. To be honest I'm not quite sure I want to walk around looking like big bird bu maybe after a while I'll adapt. maybe. I feel like this will only work if it's high fashion.

To Tweet or not to tweet

Okay maybe its just me or has twitter become newly popular? I was on record one of the first few of my friends to have a twitter about three or so years ago. Why all of a sudden has it become such a revolutionary idea to tweet? Our culture has become revolved around knowing what everyone else is doing every second of every day.

It brings up a good point that literally everyone in the industry is getting a twitter. It is the new the way for stores to release special sales and for celebrities to gain more press. Watching E News they now specifically report on what celebrities are tweeting. Is this necessary? Lately I have started re looking at my twitter to glance at what some celebrities are saying. Maybe its just that this is not a new concept to me, but I have absolutely no interest in tweeting to random people exactly what I'm doing. 1. I have a facebook to tell people what is going on with me. 2. who really cares? 3. Will twitter eventually replace the popularity of facebook? I get the thrill of feeling you are exclusive with celebrities close thoughts but really......c'mon lets move on already.
