2 more things

This makes me laugh: the new coke advertisement:
Also I am obsessed with this jean jacket from acne:

Miami

So tomorrow I am off to Miami a totally different trend and fashion lifestyle than up here. Which is why my room currently looks like a tornado hit it. Some new things in my life:
-I just bought my ticket last night for identity festival which is an all day basically house music festival at the pnc. The same people who brought Ultra to Miami and Bonaroo to Tennessee. Already have somewhat of an idea of what my hippie Coachella inspired outfit will be but stay tuned.
- In exactly one week from next Monday I will start my job at a day camp. My boring fashion starts and ends with this royal blue shirt. The only fashionable part of my outfit for these 39 days are my sunglasses, a few rings and my leather converse (that everyone asks me where i bought but it will never be revealed).

Some other fun things:
Nicole Ritchie's shoot in THAT magazine...sick. Complete godess.

I have always been a Celine fan. They are on my top 10 designers I always look at but their new resort 2012 collection has hit me over the head with fashion love. I want all of these looks plus the other ones I didn't post.

Today

Today I had so much city fun! I've recently realized more and more after adventuring to Garden State Plaza and other nearby malls that the shopping here is why so many New Jersians dress so differently than anywhere else possibly with a fashion reputation. Its about time Bergen County sees a little revival of more boutique stores instead of A MARSHALLS IN WYCKOFF? Sense the hostility. (Believe me you should've heard me scream the first time I heard the news) Okay for most of you who know, Wyckoff is my hometown where I would fondly describe it as some of the snobbiest, wealthiest, social-climbing people I have ever known live. When you think of the town of Wyckoff some normal things that come to mind are Aldos (our fantastic but ridiculously overpriced italian restaurant), Starbucks (where the trendy seek their morning latte before heading off to their 100 dollars an hour pilates class) and The Ivy Shop. The one boutique our town had seen where Juicy sweatsuits flew out of the stores back in middle school and Free People was first discovered by the Milfs of the the town. Marshalls, which now sits in the middle of our town center looks like a black fish in a sea of white.
Anyway, so back to today. Whenever I dress at home I dress significantly different than I dress in New York. Part of it is the surrounding styles by my New Jersey peers who are more on the casual side, but also because there is a judgement level in New York on the streets that everyone is quite aware of. To quote a Silverman, " I feel good when I pick out a cute outfit for the day." Agreed. So today I took a casual turn wearing this free people green tank top actually from last year but I've only worn it once before. ( you know me and my lack of color). Paired with my jean levi high waisted cutoffs. Don't get me started on how much of a trend this shorts are which makes me mourn the moments in the past of me wearing them before they were popular. I also accessorized with the bracelet shown in the previous post. Yes, I have been wearing it a lot but wouldn't you if Linda Fargo gave you a compliment on it? Thought so.

Today I came home with this new silk jacket shawl thingy- literally I don't know how to call it. I love the versatility of it and how I can wear it casually over jeans shown below or with a fancier outfit.

Lastly, here are two rings I picked up today from Buffalo Exchange love love!

By the way my highlight of my day- just walking past Ralph Lauren himself in the city #epic

#epic

Ew did I really just put a hashtag in my title? Wow twitter really is getting to everyone... anyway I feel that I need to share with you my epic day today including an introduction to THE linda fargo. Now if you do not know who that epic woman is I suggest you open up a new tab on your computer and google her. The best part was not even meeting her it was her complimenting me on my bracelet. Literally epic. (If you can't tell epic is my word of the night by choice) And yes this is the bracelet I talked about in previous post from my mom's closet. I really need to take a lesson on how to take less awkward blogging photobooth pictures.

Just being around some of New York's most elite tonight made me reassure my future and how important it is to be successful To be able to mingle with the high successor's of Prada, famous Hamptons bred store Calypso and others reaffirmed my future goals.
I'll leave you with one last thing: How gorgeous and natural does Ashley Olsen look in this picture? Please find me a picture of either olsen twin where they look ugly..I challenge you.

New inspirations

Recently I have found myself more and more inspired by old new york. Maybe it's my nostalgia for the city already but these Marilyn Monroe pictures are meant to be framed in my future NYC apartment.

Here are some of my other current fashion inspirations that I have been basing some future outfits around:
You can never go wrong with Kate Moss. There is something so incredibly sensual about any photograph of her holding a cigarette.

I have these vintage bracelets of my moms. Gold cuffs with turquoise lizard skin and one with red lizard. Extremely chic but I have always been a little wary about wearing them with such outfits. I have recently had a new appreciation for this type of vintage jewelry. Something about knowing you didn't get it just at H & M or Chinatown is so much more appealing don't you think? Plus you can never replace the quality of these older pieces.

Sorry it's been awhile

Okay so there is literally no excuse why i have not posted in forever. Literally things have just been going by so fast that I haven't had time to think. In the past few months I have not only moved back home for the summer, finished up a fantastic second semester with an amazing gpa I am so proud to have earned, but a lot of new knowledge about friends, fashion, and culture from living almost one full year in the city. As I settle in back in the "not so fashionable" dirty jersey I will continue to blog now with more time on my hands. So let's start with how beautiful has this weather been recently? I have recently come to a serious realization with my wardrobe. The silkier a top or outfit is the more versatile I find and also how much more I love it. Take these four outfits for example featured on elle.com love everything about these colors, material, and accessories.
